how does the lego movie use intertextuality to represent different people in the target audience? The lego movie uses intertextuality to represent the different members of a family target audience. Lego movie is rated a 'U' this means the primary target is likely to be the younger people (0 - 8). The secondary target would be teenagers and parents and grandparents (13 and above). The film is rated 'U' this means 'universal' this means young kids can watch it on their own without their parents supervision. Lego movie use intertextuality to bring in the young audience to make them want to watch it. Eg: Batman, wonderwoman are all characters that will work for young audiences.
