A great   story  often does both by using storytelling to  mak e  important  news   interesting. ... Journalism is a process in which a reporter uses verification and storytelling to  make  a subject newsworthy. News gathering: What are the five w's? 1 who ? 2 what ? 3 where ? 4 when ? 5 why ? 6 how ? Get as much information before interviewing. Don't take sides. news gathering- find a story- interview one side - interview the other side- remember the 5 w's and how when you are interviewing both sides.
