Advantages of online newspapers :
The biggest advantage of online newspapers has to be that they report news a lot faster than regular newspapers.

Disadvantages of online newspapers :
The biggest disadvantage of online newspapers is that one does not get the same satisfaction as reading the normal newspaper, maybe it is due to the habit of people or may due to the website on which one is reading the newspaper.
Colour pallet
The pallet is quiet traditional newspaper style as it uses classical newspaper colour like a lot of black white and red. They also use red titles which is done in order to get audience to be interrested. they also have their main title is done in white on blue background which is nothing super uncommen as it is an often used technique for the newspaper titles.
lexis
They use their own fond which is inspired by a very classical newspaper fond which is primarly done to keep the image of the classic newspaper alive for older reader.
Layout
The layout is also very traditional as its a classical main picture in the middle text around it and every article on the front page has a picture . One thing ehat is quite different is the fact that all of articles have their own picture which would be to expensive in classic newspapers.
Exam question:
In general the page is done quite traditional to get the attention of older target audience but there are also features which are done in order to get younger target audiences attracted.
I do not agree with that statement as the online page observer is quite modern with some classical influences which shows us that the observer is going for a more modern look to get some young audiences which is the direct opposite to what was stated as they don't even have that many old style things. They do use a lot of colour which obviously is way more modern than it is classic. They also use a huge amount of coloured pictures which is also really modern. You can also watch videos instead of reading the news which is done to attract lazy readers.
They shifted from there classical role to being a quite modern newspaper which is the opposite of what was stated. They did however keep some of their values as they are still very much political as seen through there artical on the labour party. They are also still being used as an influenzing medium.
